STQ Partners is a global talent consultancy built to disrupt traditional recruitment.

With over 35 years of combined experience, we champion a truly customer-obsessed approach, addressing the industry's frustrations around speed and quality.

Our proprietary Q-Print platform uses real-time market data to create a detailed blueprint of your business, ensuring we place the best scalable talent, not just the best available, in a fraction of the time.

HOW WE CAME TO BE

Throughout our global search experience, we repeatedly heard our clients’ frustrations, encountering time and time again a consistent pattern of questions:

  • Why does the quality dip when we try to recruit non-executive roles?
  • Why does the process typically take so long?
  • Why do partners focus on their needs more than ours?
  • Why do our partners back away from our harder to fill roles?
  • Why is recruitment so transactional?

When we dug a little deeper, we found search firms always focused internally for their own talent attraction, as opposed to the clients they serve. STQ Partners was conceived to disrupt the status quo and champion a truly ‘customer obsessed’ approach.

Simply put, our aim was to address the following concerns our clients experienced:

Why should a search partner of choice only help with the easy to fill positions?

We believed there was another way, but we had to address the traditional recruitment models, and in particular, the dichotomy created between Speed and Quality.

The Q-Print came from a belief that ‘search and selection’ should be data driven, based not just on the requirements of the role, but also the visible and invisible nuances within an organisation.

A belief that executive search methodology should be used for all key and strategic hires within the business.

We immediately understood that this required a process built to uncover and understand the fine details of the hiring organisation. A solid base to build all hiring requirements on.

The Q-Print is a detailed blueprint of your business; business needs; culture; values; ambitions and personality. This blueprint forms the core of our candidate sourcing/assessment strategy.

With our trademarked Q-Print, it’s not acceptable to introduce you to people who can just simply do the job, for us it’s about longevity, placing individuals that have a material impact over the long term. STQ Partners will not accept a match based purely on skills and experience, our diligent process obsesses on your business outcomes, your culture, and your values.

STQ Partners represents the consolidation of two specialist consultancy firms: SPBE, specialising in engineering and life sciences, and MJB Talent, focused on technology and power.

The founders of these two consultancies shared over seven years of collaboration in a global specialist search firm, developing a strong relationship over shared values and a unified vision for the future of the industry.

The formation of STQ Partners was guided by three core principles:

SPEED

Typically, when a search firm is engaged, all other alternatives have been explored, and there are associated costs to the business, whether in terms of time, money, or reputation. The average recruitment process can extend beyond six months, which we consider unacceptable.

We believe that by operating with exceptional speed and dominating the process, we can significantly reduce this timeframe.

TRUST

We view the "T" in STQ as representing both TRUST and TRANSPARENCY. Every strong relationship is built upon a foundation of trust, and our methodology, rooted in real-time recruitment data, offers an open and transparent service.

In an industry lacking regulation, we believe trust is of paramount importance. Anyone can start a search firm without experience or oversight, and many do.

GIVING BACK / CHARITY

When STQ Partners was conceived, one of the core drivers was change, specifically driving positive change, and where better to start than with our passions, those things that keep us awake at night. We wanted to make a difference to those areas of our lives that really meant something to us.

We believe that the power to effect change resides at every doorstep, including our own.

We knew we could affect change in our industry by implementing new processes and working practices to improve service levels, but that also led us to realise that we can implement these same practicespersonally, to enable us to support and give back to those causes that have hada profound impact on our lives.

Through our business, we aim to contribute to the fight against, and in some cases, finding the cure for illnesses and issues that aredeeply personal to us.

Initially, we will be supporting two charities: The MNDA and the Leeds Children’s Hospital.

STQ Partners commits to:

  • 3% of annual net profit shared between our partner charities.
  • A minimum of 4 charity fundraising events per year.
  • Sharing and promoting charity communications across our networks and social feeds.

This financial support pays for mental health practitioners and counsellors, support machines, as well as invaluable research into possible cures. Our communications sharing leverages our social audiences, raising awareness for two very important causes, their events, and their successes.

We believe that small changes made by everyone can make a big difference to the world, creating a better future, and the responsibility for change lies with all of us.
