Role:

The Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, and optimising manufacturing processes to ensure efficient, high-quality, and cost-effective production.

This role partners closely with production, quality, engineering, and supply chain teams to drive continuous improvement, support new product introductions, and resolve complex manufacturing challenges within a project-centric environment.

Requirements & Essential Functions:

  • Develop, evaluate, and improve manufacturing processes to increase efficiency, reduce cost, and maintain quality standards.
  • Collaborate with product design and engineering teams to support new product introductions, including process design, prototyping, and validation.
  • Conduct time studies, workflow analysis, and capacity planning to optimise production lines.
  • Troubleshoot manufacturing issues, implement corrective actions, and provide technical support to production teams.
  • Develop and maintain process documentation, work instructions, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Implement Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity and reduce waste.
  • Coordinate with maintenance and quality teams to ensure equipment reliability and compliance with safety standards.
  • Support automation initiatives and assess new manufacturing technologies for feasibility and return on investment.
  • Monitor production metrics and provide data-driven recommendations for ongoing process improvement.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, industrial, manufacturing, or electrical engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum of 3+ years’ experience in a manufacturing environment, ideally within switchgear, electrical, or industrial equipment manufacturing.
  • Strong knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Experience with process design, workflow optimisation, and production planning.
  • Proficiency with CAD tools and manufacturing simulation software.
  • Strong problem-solving capability with the ability to work effectively across cross-functional teams.
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills.
  • Working knowledge of quality standards such as ISO 9001, UL, or equivalent.
